Tourism sector is considered as very essential factor the economic growth improvement of any nation. And also it is one of the greatest rising industries of the globe.
I love to travel across the world and I made several trips so far. My parents and my husband is also very passionate in travelling. And recently we were visited some places.
Tourism is an extension of education/knowledge, experience, if not done for economic activity or health point of view and India offers sufficient and unique in this area to the world. “Earning money through tourism will add fund in discharging duty and responsibility.”

India has so many scenic blesses places like Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telanganna, Varanasi, Darjelling, Manali, Kashmir, Kanyakumari and so many places are prime attraction of travelers from across the World.

Tourism can contribute to positive developments, not just negative impacts. It has the potential to promote social development through employment creation, income redistribution and poverty alleviation.

         Travelling brings people into contact with each other and, as tourism has an educational element, it can foster understanding between peoples and cultures and provide cultural exchange between hosts and guests. Because of this, the changes increase for people to develop mutual sympathy and understanding.
Sympathy and understanding can lead to a decrease of tension in the world and thus contribute to peace.
         Tourism can add to the vitality of communities in many ways, one example is that events and festivals of which local residents have been the primary participants and spectators are often rejuvenated and developed in response to tourist interest.


         Tourism has become an important sector that has an impact on development of Country Economy. The main benefits of tourism are income creation and generation of jobs. For many regions and Countries it is the most important source of Welfare.


         Every country in the world should have a tourist attraction approach to have better cordial relationships among themselves to maintain world harmony and peace.

Tourism is a Ocean.  We can find lot of pearls like different places. Travelling is fantastic in life.  It gives relaxation, males mind peace full and makes us interact with family and friends.

Many types of tourism are there. Heritage and Historical tourism, Beach tourism, Nature tourism, Business tourism, Study tourism and many more.

Tourism is a travel for pleasure, also the theory and practice of touring. The business of attracting, educating, relaxing, accomadating and entertaining tourists. The World tourism organization defines tourism more common perception of tourism as being limited to holiday activity.   
      
Tourism is a quick source of income.  Because its money that would not have been earned if the tourists were not there. Tourism also allows Wealth to be injected into Community in a variety of ways. In additional to the revenue, there are also fantastic cultural advantages to tourism.                       
People around the world visit different places during the holidays, summers and winters. Tourism is an important part of an economy and the money it earns is helpful to everyone.

It can be Domestic or National and International tourism incoming and outgoing implications on a Country’s balance of payments. Today tourism is a major source of income for many countries and affects the economy of both the source and host Countries.

Tourism is experienced continued growth and deeper diversification to become one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the World.  Modern tourism is closely linked to development and includes more new destinations for Tourists. These dynamics turned tourism into a key driver for economic progress. Tourism is become one of the major part in International Commerce and represents at the same time one of the main income sources for many developing Countries.

Example: India, Russia, Europe, Japan, HongKong, Australia, Egypt,  London,  Affrica etc.

Business tourism or Business Travel is more limited and focused subset of regular tourism. During business tourism, individuals are still working and being paid, but are doing so away from both their work place and home. Some definition of tourism tend to exclude business travel.

Business tourism is the use of travel services, hotel facilities of travel services, hotel facilities and other amenities by people who are travelling on business. Business tourism in on the increase and the tourism industry separates business tourism from leisure tourism in an effort to promote the former by offering particular services for business people.
Business people travel and stay in hotels when attending conferences, meetings and training programs. During their stays, these travelers often visit restaurants, souveing shops and local tourist spots, means they are a source of revenue for the community. The International Trade Centre estimates that business tourism accounts for about a percent of all tourism and that business people spend approximately twice as much as leisure tourists.     
                                                                                                


Tourism is a form of cultural tourism which aims to promote public interest in archaeology and the conservation of historical sites.

CULTURAL TOURISM

Cultural tourism is the subset of tourism concerned with a country or rigion’s culture, specifically the life style of the people in those Geographical areas, the history of those people, their art, architecture, religion and other elements that helped shape their way of life.

STUDY TOURISM   

The fast growing travel and tourism industry offers plenty of scope for exciting careers in airlines, hospitality, conference and business travel and destination management.
                                                        


SOCIAL ADVANTAGES

In additional to the revenue, there are also fantastic cultural advantages to tourism. It can be a source of pride for local communities and allows them to look at their history and cultural heritage and develop their own community, identity. This helps the local residents to maintain their traditions and culture while also showcasing it for all the visitors. This advantage of tourism is what has saved many local heritage sites from destruction in addition to giving tourists a wonderful insight into the local ways of life. Tourism can help to preserve the history of a region that may be at risk of being lost Environmental advantages.

TOURIST ATTRACTION

India is a country known for its lavish treatment to all visitors. Its visitor friendly traditions, varied life styles and cultural heritage and colorful fairs and festivals held abiding attractions for the tourists.

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACT OF TOURISM
POSITIVE impacts are contributes to income and standard of living, Improve local economy, increase employment opportunities, increase investments and tax revenue and many more.

Environmental impact refers to the impact nature and surrounding areas. Tourism may have different effects on the social and cultural aspects of life in a particular region depending on the strengths of the region.                                                

The effect can be positive or negative.  Positive impacts of tourism development how tourism can contribute to socio-cultural conservation. Tourism is a chance for people to get into contact with each other, and as tourism has an educational element to it, this can cultures and provide opportunities for an exchange of these own personal culture and ways of life. Tourism also helps raise local awareness of the financial value of natural and cultural sites.
NEGATIVE impacts are the increase in process and goods and services, increase in price of land and housing, increase in cost of living, job may pay low wages. And also unhealthy issues affects on tourism.
The Tsunami had main affects on tourism.  Tsunami was caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions under the sea.

Terrorism apedemic, diseases, infectious diseases, HIV Aids, Natural calamites etc.

Tourism department should always equipped with suitable diasater management crew/ team to face any situation.
                                                       
PRESENT SITUATION AND FEATURES OF TOURISM

Today tourism is the largest service industry in India, with a contribution of 6.23% of the national GDP and providing 8.78% of the total employment. India witnesses more than 5 million annual Foreign Tourist arrivas and 562 million domestic tourism visits.

The Ministry of Tourism is the nodal agency for the development and promotion of tourism in India and maintains the “INCREDIBLE INDIA” campaign.

According to world travel and tourism council, India will be a tourism hotspot. Having the highest 15 years growth potential. As per the Travel and Tourism competitiveness. Report 2009 by the world economic forum, India is ranked 11th in the Asia Pacific region and 62nd  over all. The India travel and tourism industry ranked 5th in the long term growth and is expected to be the second largest employees in the world by 2019.                                                                                                                                               

INDIAN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

ITDC came into existence in October 1966 and had been the prime mover in the progressive development, promotion and expansion of tourism in the Country. Broadly, the main objectives of the Corporation are : To construct, take over and manage existing hotels and market hotels, beach resorts, traveler’s lodges, restaurants to provide transport, entertainment, shopping and conventional services. To produce, distribute, tourist publicity material to render consultancy cum managerial services in India and Abroad to carry on the business as full fledged money changers. South Asian Association for Regional Corporation. (Dakshina Asia
Pradeshika Sahakara Sumsthe)

SAARC is the regional intergovernmental of nations in geopolitical
union of nations in SOUTH  ASIA. Its member states include
INDIA, AFGHANISTAN, BANGLADESH, BHUTAN, NEPAL,
THE MALDIVES, PAKISTAN and SRILANKA. Purpose of the
Organization is collective economic, technical, social and cultural
development of member states. The head quarter of SAARC is in
Kathmandu-Nepal.

It is necessary for India to behave as a natural leader of the world in all its Vibrancy and Dynamism, to remain healthy happy and holy settings.                                                                        

India, officially the Republic of India, is a Country in South Asia. It is the seventh largest Country by area, the second most populous Country and the most populous democracy in the World. It is bounded by the Indian Ocean on the South, The Arabian Sea on the South West and the Bay of Bengal on the South East.

Its Capital is NEW DELHI, other metropolises included Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad etc.

India is home to at least nine recognized religions. The major religions practiced in India are Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism. Zoroastrainism, Judaism and the Baha’I Faith are also practiced in India.

India is home to several hundred languages. Ex: Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, English, Tamil, Urdu, Marathi, Konkani, Bengali, Punjabi, Malyalam etc.
                                                                                                   



KARNATAKA - KARUNADU


Karnataka is a State in southwest India with Arabian Sea coastlines. It was formed on 1st November 1956, with the passage of the    States     Re- organisation Act. The capital Bengaluru  (formerly Bangalore), is a high-tech hub known for its shopping and nightlife. To the southwest, Mysore Palace, former seat of the region’s Maharajas. Hampi, once the Medieval Vijayanagara empire’s capital, contains ruins of Hindu temple, elephant stables and a stone chariot.

The City is known as the “Garden City” and also “IT – BT City” of India. Bangalore is one of the most important tourist centers of the Karnataka State. Central Business district of Bangalore consists of places M.G. Road, Brigade Road, K.R. Market, Commercial Street etc. It has Many Tourist places to visit. There are very nice sightseeing.
Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore Palace, Bangalore Fort, Cubban Park, Iskon, Lalbagh, Bannerghatta National Park and many more Tourist places in Bangalore. 
Vidhana Soudha is one of the most famous landmark of Bangalore.

BANGALORE FORT:
This fort began in 1537 as a mud fort. The builder was Kempe Gowda. A vassal of the Vijayanagara empire and the founder of Bangalore. Haider Ali Khan in 1761 replaced the MUD Fort with a Stone Fort. It served as the strong hold of Tipu Sultan until it fell to British in 1791 during the third Mysore war. After coming under British most of the fort was reconstructed into house, schools and hospitals, roads.
The fort is maintained by the Achaeological Survey of India and is open for visits from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. The tickets can be bought at the counter.

VIDHANA SOUDHA :

Vidhana Soudha is the seat of Karnataka’s Legislative assembly. This has Four floors above and one floor below ground level and sprawls across an area of 2,300 by 1,150 feet. It is the largest Legislative building in India.

Kengal Hanumathaiah is credited with the conception and construction of the Vidhana Soudha. The foundation stone was laid by the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharalal Nehru on 13th July 1951. Kengal Hanumanthaiah visited Europe, Russia, US and other places and got idea of building the Vidhana Soudha by incorporating various design from the buildings he had seen. It was completed in 1956, He took a lot of interest and effort in building this marvelous granite building. It was meant to dwarf the British built “Athara Kacheri” – Hight court building.
Vidhana Soudha is an imposing building, constructed in a style sometimes described as Neo-Dravidian and incorporates elements of INDO-SARACENIC and DRAVIDIAN STYLES. It is built largely with “Bangalore Granite” excavated from the areas around Mallasandra and Hessaraghatta. For visiud effect and relief. MAGADI PINK and TURUVEKERE BLACK stones have also been used. This is one of the most famous LAND MARK of BANGALORE.
BANGALORE PALACE
The Bangalore Palace was built by a Wodeyar King in 1887 on the 400 acre space. Inspired by the Windsor Castle, this palace was built in the Tudos Style, complete with Gothic windows, foiled windows, battlements and turrets resembling the Daria Daulat Palace in Srirangapattana. This summer palace has been constructed largely of WOOD and is famous for its CARVING and PAINTINGS. The special attraction in palace is a gallery of nearly a Thousands Historical Photos, including those of  MAHARAJAS, VICEROYAS and other famous personalities inside and exquisite carving and paintings.
Palace visiting hours : 10.00 am to 6.00 pm
Sunday holiday – Entry fee is there.
LAL BAGH
Lal bagh meaning the Red Garden in English,is a well known Botanical Garden in Southern Bangalore. The garden was originally commissioned by HYDER ALI, the ruler of Mysore, and later finished by his son TIPU SULTAN. It has a famous GLASS HOUSE which hosts two annual FLOWER SHOWS 26th January and 15th August. Lal bagh houses India’s largest collection of tropical plants, has a lake and is one of the main TOURIST attractions in Bangalore. It is also home to a few species of birds. The commonly sighted birds include Myna, Brahmini kite, Parakeets and Purple moor hen etc.

The  Lal Bagh ROCK, one of the oldest rock formations on EARTH. This Geological Monument for the peninsular gneiss formation is also a tourist attraction at the garden. It has been designated by the Geological survey of India on the Lal Bagh hill which is made up of 3000 million year old peninsular gneissic rocks.

The Government of Karnataka organize “Janapada Jatre” in Lal bagh on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. Janapada Jaatre which means Folk Fair, features folk dance, music and plays performed by troups from all parts of Karnataka, the Traditional costumes and musical instruments.

One of the Four cardinal TOWERS erected by Kempe Gowda, also a major tourist attration, is seen above this hill rock. This tower gives the full view of some part of the Bangalore from the top. (Be careful when u all watching.)

      MYSORE PALACE OR AMBA VILLAS PALACE

The Palace of Mysore is a Historical Palace in the city of Mysore in Karnataka. It is the official residence and seat of the Wadiyars the rulers of Mysore. The royal family of Mysore, who ruled the princely from 1399 to 1950.
                                                                                                         
Mysore is commonly described as the city of Palaces. There are about seven places inclusive of this. Mysore palace refers specifically to the one within the old Fort. Built by the Maharaja Rajashri his Highness Krishnarajendra Wadiyar IV. Mysore palace is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in India, after the Taj Mahal and has more than 6 million visitors annually.

The architectural style of domes of the palace is commonly described as INDO-SARASENIC and blends Hindu, Muslim, Rajput and Gothic Styles. The Palace is surrounded by a large garden. The entrance gate and arch hold the emblem and coat of arms of the kingdom of Mysore. Every year the Palace is the venue for the famous MYSORE DASARA festival on the tenth day of the festival Vijaya Dashami.

The GOLDEN THRONE OR RATNA SIMHASANA is one of the main attraction of Mysore palace. It is both antique and sacred.  

CHINNADA AMBARI OR HOWDAH

The Carrier mounted on the lead elephant during the Jamboo Savari- Elephant procession of the Mysore Dasara. The Golden Howdah is mounted on the lead elephant with the idol of deity Nada devathe Sri Chamundeshwari placed in it. The procession of over 5.5 kilometers passes through the Mysore city, beg inning at Mysore Palace and terminating at Bannimantapa. Jamboo Savari is the Main attraction for tourists every year.                                                    

HAMPI
Hampi is an ancient village in the South India. It’s dotted with numerous ruined temple complexes from the Vijayanagara Empire. On the South bank of the river Tungabhadra is the 7th  century Hindu Sri Veerupakksha Temple near the revived Hampi Bazaar. A carved Stone Chariot is main attraction in Hampi. Its stands in front of the huge Vittala Temple site. Some of tourist attractions are Lotus Mahal, Hemakuta, Mathanga, Kadalle Kallu Ganesha, Narasimha, Big Shivalinga etc., and Daroji Bear Sanctuary is home to the Indian Sloth Bear.
Hampi is a recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site listed as the Group of Monuments.                          

CHARMINAR

The Charminar constructed in 1591 is a Monument and Mosque located in Hyderabad, Telangana. The landmark has become a global icon of Hyderabad. The Charminar is situated on the east bank of Musi river. To the west lies the Laad Bazaar and to the South west lies the richly ornamented Granite Makkah Masjid.

Hyderabad tour is incomplete without a visit to Charminar. An amazing blend of Indo-Islamic Architecture, Charminar represents the glorious history of the City.

                                      MAHABALIPURAM

Mahabalipuram was the earlier name of Mamallapuram, because the demon king Mahabali was killed by Lord Vishnu. Mahabalipuram lies on the Coromondel coast which faces the Bay of Bengal. This is a beautiful and peaceful place to watch which a well established sea port war during the 7th and 10th centuries of the   

Pallava dynasty. Most of the monuments like rock cut rathas, sculptured scense on open rocks like Arjun’s Peance, the Caves of Govardhanadhari and Mahishasuramardhini, The Jala-Sayana Perumal temple (the sleeping Mahavishnu or chakrin at the rear part of the shore temple complex) are attributed to the period of Narasimhavarman Mamalla.

Mahabalipuram is reffered as a “open air museum”. The beauty of the place is not only due to these architecture but the vast casuarinas trees, silver sandy beach the classical hand made crafts around have made them all to form what is a collective splendor.

BHIMBETAKA

The Rock Shelters of Bhimbetaka lies 9 km from Obedullagani city in the Raisen district of Madhyapradesh. Its very near to the Bhopal at the south edge of the Vindhya hills. South of these rock shelters are successive range of the Saptapura hills. The entire area is covered by thick vegetation,     

has abundant natural resources in its perennial water supplies, natural shelters, rich forest flora and fauna and bears a striking resemblance to similar rock art sites such as Kakadu National Park in Australia.

As reported in the UNESCO citation declaring the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka a World Heritage Site. Bhimbetka was first mentioned in Indian Archaeological records in 1888 as a Buddhist site, based on information gathered from local adivasis.




AJANTHA ELLORA


The caves are located just outside the village of Ajantha in Aurangabad. Ajantha and Ellora are 28-30 rock cut cave monuments created during the first century BC and 5th century AD, containing paintings and sculptures considered to be master pieces of both Buddhist religious art and universal pictorial art.

Ajanta with the Ellora caves, the major tourist attraction of the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Since 1983 the Ajanta and Ellora caves have been a UNESCO Word Heritage site.                                                                
MUMBAI

Mumbai is a densely populated city on India’s west coast. Formerly called Bombay. A financial center, it is India’s largest city. On the Mumbai Harbour water front  stands the iconic Gateway of India stone arch, built by the British Raj in 1924. Off shore, neay by Elephanta Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The city’s also famous as the heart of the Bolly wood film industry.

DELHI




Delhi is a capital of India. It has many attractions like Mosques, Forts and other monuments that represent India’s history. The Qutub Minar, Red Fort and Humayaun’s Tomb have been declared World Heritage sites.                                       

                                            INDIA GATE

The India Gate is a war memorial located aslride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the “ceremonial axis” of New Delhi. Formerly called Kingsway. India Gate is a memorial to 82000 Soldiers of the undivided Indian Army who died in the period 1914-1921 in the first World war, in France, Flanders, Mesopotamia, Persia, East Africa, Gallipoli and else where in the near and the Far east, and the Third Anglo-Afghan war.

The India Gate, which is illuminated every evening with Indian Flag Colours. From 7.00 am to 9.30 pm, is a major tourist attraction. Motor cars, moved through India Gate, till it was closed to traffic.

The Republic Day parade starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan and passes around the India Gate.



                      TAJ MAHAL

The Taj Mahal is an ivory white marble Mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the city of Agra.Taj Mahal is one of the most famous buildings in the WORLD. The Mausolem of Shah Jahan’s favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is perhaps India’s most fascinating and beautiful monument took 22 years (1630 -1652) of hard labour and 20,000 workers, masons and jewelers to build and is set amidst landscaped Gardens.
The Taj Mahal designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983 for being the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired master pieces of the World heritage. The Taj Mahal attracts 7-8 millian visitors a year. In 2007 it was declated a winner of the NEW 7 WONDERS of the WORLD.

Jaipur is also popularly known as Pink city. Jaipur is a very famous tourist and education destination in India. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. AMRITSAR



Amritsar is home to the Harmandir Sahib, commonly know as the GOLDEN TEMPLE. The spiritual and cultural centre for the Sikh religion.

Amritsar is a city in the northwestern Indian State of Punjab. 28 kilometers from the border with Pakistan. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple is the holiest GURUDWARA of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a cause way, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank or lake, where piligrims bathe.

                               VARANASI / BENARAS


Varanasi also known as Kashi and Benaras. Kashi is a city on the banks of the Ganges in the Uttar Pradesh state of the North India. The Spiritual capital of India, it is the holiest of the seven sacred cities means Sapta Puri in Hinduism and Jainism and played an important role in the development of Buddhism.

The city is religious importance continued to grow in the 8th century. When Adi Shankaracharya established the worship of Sri Vishwanatha and Vishalakshi as an official sect of Varanasi.                  
                                                                                                         
Despite the Muslim rule, Varanasi remained the centre of activity for Hindu intellectuals and theologians during the middle ages, which further contributed to its reputation as a cultural centre of religion and education.

The Varanasi is known worldwide for its many GHATS, embankments made in steps of stone slabs along the river bank where piligrims perform ritual ablutions of particular note are the Dashashwamedha ghat, The Panchaganga Ghat, Manikaran Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat. Dashashwamedha Ghat is famous for GANGA AARATHI. Every day at 7.00 to 8.00 pm they will perform Ganga Aarathi.                                                  
                                                CUTTACK       


Cuttak is the former Capital and the second largest city in the eastern Indian State of Odisha / Orissa. It is also the head quarters of the Cuttack district. The name of the City is an anglicized form of Katak which literally means the Fort, a reference to the ancient Barabati Fort around which the city initially developed.                                 
                                                                                                         
Cuttack is also known as the Millennium City as well as the Silver city due to its history of 1000 years and famous silver filigree works. Cuttack and Bhubaneshwar are often referred to as the Twin cities of Odisha.

Cuttack is one of oldest cities of Odisha. Resting on a fertile delta formed by the Mahanadi and Kathjori rivers. Cuttack is a commercial centre bustling with trade activities. It is a major producer of Rice.

                                       SHANTINIKETAN

Shantiniketan is a small town near Bolpur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal and about 212 km North of Kalkata or Calcutta. It was made famous by Nobel Laureate Sri.Rabindranath Tagore, whose vision become what is now a University town – Viswa Bharati University. The place now attracts thousands of visitors every year.                                                          
The 1901, Tagore started a school at Shantiniketan named Brahmachary Ashram, that was modeled on the lines of the ancient GURUKUL system. After he received the Nobel Prize that enhanced not only the pride of India, but also the prestige of Shantiniketan, the school was expanded into a University. It was renamed Viswa Bhartati, which Tagore defined as “Where the World makes a home in a nest.”

The Santiniketan campus is adorned by splendid sculptures, frescoes, murals and paintings of Rabindranath, Nandalal Bose, Ramkin Kar, Binodbehari Mukhopadhyay and others. In Colombian Rio Cano castales, or the river of five colors is a special place where for a brief period of time every year. During the short span between the water level is just right, a unique spacies of plant that lines the river floor called Macarenia Clavigera turns a brilliant red.

Saudi Arabia is a desert country encompassing most of the Arabian Peninsulla, with Red sea and Persian(Arabian) Gulf coast lines. Known as the birth place of Islam, it’s home to the religion’s most sacred mosques MASJID AL HARAM, in MECCA, destination of the annual   Hajj Pilgrimage, and Medina’s Masjid an – Nabawi, burial site of the prophet Muhammad. Riyadh, the capital, is a Skyscraper filled metropolis.

Buckingham Palace is the London residence and administrative headquarters of the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom. Queen Victoria, the first monarch to reside at Buckingham palace, moved into the newly completed palace in 1837.

Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean with dense cities, imperial places, mountainous, national parks and thousands of shrines and temples. Shinkansen bullet trains connect the main islands of Kyushu with Okinawa’s subtropical beaches, Honshu. Home to Tokyo and Hiroshima’s atomic – bomb memorial and Hokkaido famous for sking. The country is also renowned for its wines and sophisticated cuisine. Lascaux’s  ancient cave drawings, Lyon’s Roman theater and thevast palace of Versailles attest its rich history.

LOURDES

Lourdes is a town in south western France, in the foot hills of the Pyrenees mountains. It’s known world wide for the Sanctuaires Notre-Dame de Lourdes, or the Domin, a major CATHOLIC piligrimage site. Every year, millions visit the Grotto of Massabielle where, in 1858, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a local woman. Piligrims can drink or bathe in water flowing from a spring in the Grotto.
