Tourism is a Ocean. We can find lot of pearls like different
places. Travelling is fantastic in life. It gives relaxation, males mind peace full and
makes us interact with family and friends.
Many types of tourism are there.
Heritage and Historical tourism, Beach tourism, Nature tourism, Business
tourism, Study tourism and many more.
Tourism
is a travel for pleasure, also the theory and practice of touring. The business
of attracting, educating, relaxing, accomadating and entertaining tourists. The
World tourism organization defines tourism more common perception of tourism as
being limited to holiday activity.
Tourism
is a quick source of income.
Because its money that would not have been earned if the tourists were
not there. Tourism also allows Wealth to be injected into Community in a
variety of ways. In additional to the revenue, there are also fantastic cultural
advantages to tourism.
People
around the world visit different places during the holidays, summers and
winters. Tourism is an important part of an economy and the money it
earns is helpful to everyone.
It
can be Domestic or National and International tourism incoming and outgoing
implications on a Country’s balance of payments. Today tourism is a major
source of income for many countries and affects the economy of both the
source and host Countries.

BUSINESS TOURISM
Business
tourism or Business Travel is more limited and focused subset of regular
tourism. During business tourism, individuals are still working and being paid,
but are doing so away from both their work place and home. Some definition of
tourism tend to exclude business travel.
Business
tourism is the use of travel services, hotel facilities of travel services,
hotel facilities and other amenities by people who are travelling on business.
Business tourism in on the increase and the tourism industry separates business
tourism from leisure tourism in an effort to promote the former by offering
particular services for business people.

people travel and stay in hotels when attending conferences, meetings and
training programs. During their stays, these travelers often visit restaurants,
souveing shops and local tourist spots, means they are a source of revenue
for the community. The International Trade Centre estimates that business

specifically the life style of the people in those Geographical areas, the
history of those people, their art, architecture, religion and other elements
that helped shape their way of life.

fast growing travel and tourism industry offers plenty of scope for exciting careers
in airlines, hospitality, conference and business travel and destination
management.
SOCIAL ADVANTAGES
In

tourism. It can be a source of pride for local communities and allows them to
look at their history and cultural heritage and develop their own
community, identity. This helps the local residents to maintain their

different effects on the social and cultural aspects of life in a particular
region depending on the strengths of the region.

effect can be positive or negative.
Positive impacts of tourism development how tourism can contribute to
socio-cultural conservation. Tourism is a chance for people to get into contact
with each other, and as tourism has an educational element to it, this can
cultures and provide opportunities for an exchange of these own personal
culture and ways of life. Tourism also helps raise local awareness of the financial
value of natural and cultural sites.
NEGATIVE
impacts are
the increase in process and goods and services, increase in price of land and housing,
increase in cost of living, job may pay low wages. And also unhealthy issues
affects on tourism.
The
Tsunami had main affects on tourism.
Tsunami was caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions under the sea.
Terrorism
apedemic, diseases, infectious diseases, HIV Aids, Natural calamites etc.
Tourism
department should always equipped with suitable diasater management crew/ team
to face any situation.

SITUATION AND FEATURES OF TOURISM
Today
tourism is the largest service industry in India, with a contribution of 6.23% of the
national GDP and providing 8.78% of the total employment. India witnesses more
than 5 million annual Foreign Tourist arrivas and 562 million domestic tourism
visits.
The
Ministry of Tourism is the nodal agency for the development and promotion of
tourism in India and maintains the “INCREDIBLE INDIA” campaign.
According
to world travel and tourism council, India will be a tourism hotspot.
Having the highest 15 years growth potential. As per the Travel and Tourism
competitiveness. Report 2009 by the world economic forum, India is ranked 11th
in the Asia Pacific region and 62nd
over all. The India travel and tourism industry ranked 5th in
the long term growth and is expected to be the second largest employees in the
world by 2019.
INDIAN
TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
ITDC
came into existence in October 1966 and had been the prime mover in the
progressive development, promotion and expansion of tourism in the Country.
Broadly, the main objectives of the Corporation are : To construct, take over
and manage existing hotels and market hotels, beach resorts, traveler’s lodges,
restaurants to provide transport, entertainment, shopping and conventional
services. To produce, distribute, tourist publicity material to render
consultancy cum managerial services in India and Abroad to carry on the
business as full fledged money changers. (FFMC)

South Asian Association for Regional Corporation. (Dakshina Asia

SAARC
is the regional intergovernmental of nations in geopolitical
union
of nations in SOUTH ASIA. Its member

AFGHANISTAN, BANGLADESH, BHUTAN, NEPAL,

MALDIVES, PAKISTAN and SRILANKA. Purpose of the
Organization
is collective economic, technical, social and cultural

of member states. The head quarter of SAARC is in

KARNATAKA - KARUNADU

Karnataka
is a State in southwest India with Arabian Sea coastlines. It was formed
on 1st November 1956, with the passage of the States
Re- organisation Act.
The capital Bengaluru (formerly
Bangalore), is a high-tech hub known for its shopping and nightlife. To the
southwest, Mysore Palace, former seat of the region’s Maharajas. Hampi, once
the Medieval Vijayanagara empire’s capital, contains ruins of Hindu temple,
elephant stables and a stone chariot.
BANGALORE

The
City is known as the “Garden City” and also “IT – BT City” of India. Bangalore
is one of the most important tourist centers of the Karnataka State. Central
Business district of Bangalore consists of places M.G. Road, Brigade Road, K.R.
Market, Commercial Street etc. It has Many Tourist places to visit. There are
very nice sightseeing.

Soudha, Bangalore Palace, Bangalore Fort, Cubban Park, Iskon, Lalbagh,
Bannerghatta National Park and many more Tourist places in Bangalore.

is one of the most famous landmark of Bangalore.
BANGALORE
FORT:
This
fort began in 1537 as a mud fort. The builder was Kempe Gowda. A vassal of the
Vijayanagara empire and the founder of Bangalore. Haider Ali Khan in 1761
replaced the MUD Fort with a Stone Fort. It served as the strong hold of Tipu
Sultan until it fell to British in 1791 during the third Mysore war. After
coming under British most of the fort was reconstructed into house, schools and
hospitals, roads.
The
fort is maintained by the Achaeological Survey of India and is open for visits
from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. The tickets can be bought at the counter.
VIDHANA
SOUDHA :
Vidhana
Soudha is the seat of Karnataka’s Legislative assembly. This has Four floors
above and one floor below ground level and sprawls across an area of 2,300 by
1,150 feet. It is the largest Legislative building in India.
Kengal
Hanumathaiah is credited with the conception and construction of the Vidhana
Soudha. The foundation stone was laid by the then Prime Minister of India,
Jawaharalal Nehru on 13th July 1951. Kengal Hanumanthaiah visited Europe,
Russia, US and other places and got idea of building the Vidhana Soudha by
incorporating various design from the buildings he had seen. It was completed
in 1956, He took a lot of interest and effort in building this marvelous
granite building. It was meant to dwarf the British built “Athara Kacheri” –
Hight court building.
Vidhana
Soudha is an imposing building, constructed in a style sometimes described as
Neo-Dravidian and incorporates elements of INDO-SARACENIC and DRAVIDIAN STYLES.
It is built largely with “Bangalore Granite” excavated from the areas around
Mallasandra and Hessaraghatta. For visiud effect and relief. MAGADI PINK and
TURUVEKERE BLACK stones have also been used. This is one of the most famous
LAND MARK of BANGALORE.
BANGALORE
PALACE

The
Bangalore Palace was built by a Wodeyar King in 1887 on the 400 acre space.
Inspired by the Windsor Castle, this palace was built in the Tudos Style,
complete with Gothic windows, foiled windows, battlements and turrets
resembling the Daria Daulat Palace in Srirangapattana. This summer palace has
been constructed largely of WOOD and is famous for its CARVING and PAINTINGS.
The special attraction in palace is a gallery of nearly a Thousands Historical
Photos, including those of MAHARAJAS,
VICEROYAS and other famous personalities inside and exquisite carving and
paintings.

LAL
BAGH

Lal
bagh meaning the Red Garden in English,is a well known Botanical Garden in
Southern Bangalore. The garden was originally commissioned by HYDER ALI, the
ruler of Mysore, and later finished by his son TIPU SULTAN. It has a famous
GLASS HOUSE which hosts two annual FLOWER SHOWS 26th January and 15th
August. Lal bagh houses India’s largest collection of tropical plants, has a
lake and is one of the main TOURIST attractions in Bangalore. It is also home
to a few species of birds. The commonly sighted birds include Myna, Brahmini
kite, Parakeets and Purple moor hen etc.
The Lal Bagh ROCK, one of the oldest rock
formations on EARTH. This Geological Monument for the peninsular gneiss
formation is also a tourist attraction at the garden. It has been designated by
the Geological survey of India on the Lal Bagh hill which is made up of 3000
million year old peninsular gneissic rocks.
The
Government of Karnataka organize “Janapada Jatre” in Lal bagh on the second and
fourth Saturday of every month. Janapada Jaatre which means Folk Fair, features
folk dance, music and plays performed by troups from all parts of Karnataka,
the Traditional costumes and musical instruments.
One
of the Four cardinal TOWERS erected by Kempe Gowda, also a major tourist
attration, is seen above this hill rock. This tower gives the full view of some
part of the Bangalore from the top. (Be careful when u all watching.)

MYSORE PALACE OR AMBA VILLAS PALACE

The
Palace of Mysore is a Historical Palace in the city of Mysore in Karnataka. It
is the official residence and seat of the Wadiyars the rulers of Mysore. The
royal family of Mysore, who ruled the princely from 1399 to 1950.
Mysore
is commonly described as the city of Palaces. There are about seven places
inclusive of this. Mysore palace refers specifically to the one within the old
Fort. Built by the Maharaja Rajashri his Highness Krishnarajendra Wadiyar IV.
Mysore palace is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in
India, after the Taj Mahal and has more than 6 million visitors annually.
The
architectural style of domes of the palace is commonly described as INDO-SARASENIC
and blends Hindu, Muslim, Rajput and Gothic Styles. The Palace is
surrounded by a large garden. The entrance gate and arch hold the emblem
and coat of arms of the kingdom of Mysore. Every year the Palace is the venue
for the famous MYSORE DASARA festival on the tenth day of the festival Vijaya

GOLDEN THRONE OR RATNA SIMHASANA is one of the main attraction of Mysore
palace. It is both antique and sacred.
CHINNADA
AMBARI OR HOWDAH
The
Carrier mounted on the lead elephant during the Jamboo Savari- Elephant
procession of the Mysore Dasara. The Golden Howdah is mounted on the lead
elephant with the idol of deity Nada devathe Sri Chamundeshwari placed
in it. The procession of over 5.5 kilometers passes through the Mysore city,
beg inning at Mysore Palace and terminating at Bannimantapa. Jamboo Savari
is the Main attraction for tourists every year.
HAMPI

Hampi

Mahabalipuram

BHIMBETAKA
The
Rock Shelters of Bhimbetaka lies 9 km from Obedullagani city in the
Raisen district of Madhyapradesh. Its very near to the Bhopal at the south edge
of the Vindhya hills. South of these rock shelters are successive range
of the Saptapura hills. The entire area is covered by thick vegetation,
has
abundant natural resources in its perennial water supplies, natural shelters,
rich forest flora and fauna and bears a striking resemblance to similar rock
art sites such as Kakadu National Park in Australia.
As
reported in the UNESCO citation declaring the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka a
World Heritage Site. Bhimbetka was first mentioned in Indian Archaeological
records in 1888 as a Buddhist site, based on information gathered from local
adivasis.
AJANTHA
ELLORA

The
caves are located just outside the village of Ajantha in Aurangabad. Ajantha
and Ellora are 28-30 rock cut cave monuments created during the first century
BC and 5th century AD, containing paintings and sculptures
considered to be master pieces of both Buddhist religious art and universal
pictorial art.

TAJ MAHAL

The
Taj Mahal is an ivory white marble Mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna

Mahal. It is perhaps India’s most fascinating and beautiful monument took

AMRITSAR

Amritsar

Cuttak
